What is 3D Fosil?
3D Fosil is a web-based 3D printing platform that checks STL, 3MF and OBJ models against your own printer and slices them into printer-ready G-code with a proven open-source slicing engine, without installing desktop software.
3D Fosil combines pre-print model analysis and a full slicer in one browser workspace, tied to the printers you save in your account.
What you get
STL risk analysis
Measure dimensions, volume and overhangs, check that the mesh is watertight and that it fits your printer, then get print time, filament and cost from a real slice.
Pro-grade slicing
Slice with close to 600 print settings from Basic to Expert visibility. Derived values update automatically when you change a parent setting.
Your printers, saved
Save printer setups with build volume, nozzle, material and start/end G-code. Every analysis and slice uses the machine you choose.
Layer-by-layer preview
Inspect walls, infill, skin, supports and adhesion in a 3D toolpath preview before you download the G-code.
How it works
- 01
Add your printer
Pick a model from the printer library or enter a custom build volume, nozzle and start G-code.
- 02
Check the model
Run an STL analysis to see whether it fits, where it needs support, how long it takes and what it costs.
- 03
Slice and download
Tune print settings, preview the toolpaths layer by layer and download printer-ready G-code.

What is 3D Fosil?: common questions
What is 3D Fosil?
3D Fosil is a web-based 3D printing platform that checks STL, 3MF and OBJ models against your own printer and slices them into printer-ready G-code with a proven open-source slicing engine, without installing desktop software.
How does 3D Fosil slice models?
3D Fosil slices on its servers with a proven open-source slicing engine and close to 600 print settings. Derived values such as wall speeds and infill line distance are calculated from the settings you change, so the slice always matches your choices.
Which file formats can I upload?
You can upload STL, 3MF and OBJ files. 3MF and OBJ models are converted to a single mesh in the browser before slicing.
Which 3D printers are supported?
3D Fosil ships with profiles for printers from Creality, Prusa, Anycubic, Elegoo, Sovol, Artillery, FlashForge, Qidi Tech, Voron, Raise3D and Ultimaker, and you can add a custom printer with your own build volume and start G-code. Bambu Lab printers are not supported yet.
