These terms apply when you use 3D Fosil, its website and its slicing and analysis tools. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them.

3D Fosil is a web-based platform that analyses 3D models (STL, 3MF and OBJ) against the printers you save and slices them into G-code for FDM 3D printers.
Slicing runs inside your web browser by default: the slicing engine is downloaded to your computer and processes your model there, using your device's processor and memory. In that case the model file never leaves your computer. How fast a slice finishes therefore depends on your device.
If your device cannot slice in the browser (for example on phones, tablets or devices with little memory), or if browser slicing fails, the model is sent to our slicing server in the European Union instead. It is processed in temporary storage and deleted as soon as slicing ends; the resulting G-code is kept for up to one hour so you can download it, then deleted.
You need an account for the dashboard, the slicer and STL analysis. You must be at least 16 years old, give a working email address and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
Tell us at once if you think someone else has used your account. We may suspend accounts that break these terms or put the service or other users at risk.
Some features use tokens; their current cost is shown before you use them. Free and paid packages include a monthly token allowance that renews every 30 days and does not carry over. Add-on tokens do not expire and can be used while you have an active paid package.
If a feature fails on our side, the tokens it used are returned automatically. Tokens have no cash value and cannot be transferred.
Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, which acts as our merchant of record: it is the seller of record for your purchase, charges your payment method, handles sales tax and VAT, and issues your invoices. Its own terms apply to the payment.
Paid packages are monthly subscriptions that renew automatically on each billing date until you cancel. You can cancel or change your package at any time from Billing → Manage subscription; after cancelling you keep the package until the end of the period you paid for. Switching packages mid-period charges or credits the difference. Add-on token packs are one-time purchases.
Refunds follow Dodo Payments' refund policy and the consumer rights that apply where you live. Prices are shown on the website and may change; a change never affects a period you have already paid for and is announced before your next renewal.
Your models remain yours. You give us only the permission needed to process them for you (for example when slicing falls back to our server). You confirm that you have the right to use the files you load.
You must not use the service for anything unlawful, to print weapons or parts whose possession is prohibited where you are, to infringe other people's rights, or to attack, overload or reverse engineer the service beyond what open-source licences allow.
G-code, print time, filament and cost estimates, risk scores and AI print-setup suggestions are produced automatically and may be wrong for your machine, material or model. Check the preview and your printer settings before printing and follow your printer manufacturer's safety instructions.
We are not responsible for failed prints, wasted material, or damage to printers or property caused by printing G-code produced with the service, to the extent the law allows.
The slicing engine is CuraEngine by UltiMaker, licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License v3. Its source code and the details of our build are on the open-source page. Nothing in these terms limits the rights that licence gives you.
We work to keep 3D Fosil available but cannot promise uninterrupted service. We may change features, and we will announce changes to these terms on this page and, for material changes, by email or in the app before they take effect.
The service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.
You can stop using 3D Fosil at any time and ask us to delete your account by writing to info@3dfosil.com. Unused tokens lapse when the account is closed.
Mandatory consumer protection rules of the country you live in continue to apply in addition to these terms.
